On the evening of Saturday, March 27, 2010, our nation partook in Earth Hour with the rest of the world from 8:30pm-9:30pm (PST).  The lights of various roads, buildings and homes switched off throughout the four provinces for an hour in order to exhibit energy conservation. The NGO ‘Sahil’ organized an event in Islamabad called ‘Child Friendly Newspaper Award 2009’ on Thursday, March 25, 2010.  Speakers at the ceremony were of the opinion that the media needs to help create awareness about why sexual abuse for children is unacceptable and detrimental; and how to protect children. Don’t you think child abuse needs to stop for the well being and benefit of our youth and society?

Most of the time they don't  all agree with each other but when it comes to supporting their country by showing their national pride they always stand as one people. Given that we have comparatively less factions and sects, why do we have a hard time embracing the little diversity that we do find in our country?

Today there was a small article on Dawn.com about how the opening session of an international conference on Sufism and peace was held yesterday. There a consensus was reached that artists and intellectual writers must jointly work to end conflicts exposing people to misery and suppression.
